Real Madrid - Great team and developed great. Helped by their strong financial status.

Barcelona - Great teamwork, but Real Madrid seem to of overtook them atm.

Bayern Munich - Experience, brilliant attacking play, showed it last year.

I don't think there's any way Chelsea will win it again.

"Negative play"? Who is to deem what type of football is attractive? Tiki taka bores a hell of a lot of people.

Nothing was said about attractive and unnatractive. The tactics Chelsea employed in the CL last season were incredibly defensive and designed to stop the opponent playing. Read; defensive.

They shouldn't have worked. If Gomez wasn't so profligate in front of goal they wouldn't have done either.

Negative play = Defensive play? Lightning won't strike twice at the same place, if they keep the same defensive tactics they used in the CL last year, they won't be as lucky.

If they do decide to work on actually playing football though, with those new players they have I'm sure they can become as good and dangerously attacking team as any other in team the champions league.

Negative play is rather than having your own set game plan, ie Barca tiki taki, Stoke long ball etc, you play more pragmatic, so play according to your opposition's gameplan and stop them playing it.

You can still have positive play whilst playing defensive, a la Swansea. They play a very defensive version of the short passing Barca gameplan, but it's still a positive gameplan based on keeping posession and working the ball forward rather than simply stopping your opponent.

An attacking but negative gameplan would be something like Athletic played against Man United in the Europa last season. They pressed very high up the pitch in order to stop United's build up play.
