I wasn't going to post in here but from some of the comments & the noises in the chat, it seems some of you would like an explanation so i'll do the best I can. First for the record, I wasn't actively looking to join another team. After the Ajhax thing (next person to mention Gary impersonation will be getting a visit from Big Jermaine) I would have been quite happy to just stick around here & have fun with the many decent folk i've met since I arrived.
To those of you 'disappointed' with this decision, I presume you are refering to the possibility of joining teams higher up the league – competing for titles etc. Had that been a major motivation for me, I would have taken the first offer I received, from the best side in the league at present – I was shocked and flattered when it came – and also at those that followed – I didn't and don't believe i'm worth a place on any of those teams – or for that matter on AC :)
I knew that joining any of the league leaders who offered would mean playing in goal more or less permanently, which I am not overly keen to do. Also there's the pressure – the expectation for results – and the reactions afterwards if these are not achieved. I'd have had trouble dealing with that – all eyes watching – being the one to let the big club down.
From AC the offer was different - I have an ex-Ajhax team mate to thank for that. I'd like to thank both Mad & Ghost for the thoughtful PM's they sent. Basically the suggestion was just to come & practice with the team – be a part of something again – with no pressure to play in the league games or be all the time in the goal – just to try to learn from the others & have fun. Many of you would find that stupid (whats the point of a player who doesn't play, right cb?), but i'll be more than happy to sit on their bench & help out if needed. I like their attitude towards the game in general (a smile rather than a rage) & the atmosphere in our room tonight was great – because it has to be about more than just the results.
@ CB – Whilst I did ask to host the game, I am disappointed Ghost chose to reveal the fact we doctored your ping. He must have taken exception to my comment regarding his latest spiderman outfit...
@ Lek – I'm afraid i'd make a lousy admin – just as Soc, I wouldn't have the heart to ban friends from the chat :)
@ Hes – It seems thefollows me everywhere I go – it was on Mad's avatar tonight. Perhaps I should adopt it too & save my keyboard some hammer?
@ Aids – Did you say you AGREED with Jonny? Can I get a signed copy of that please? :)
Thanks to those of you who've wished me well and to all at AC for the welcome. I can't offer you anything to strengthen the side i'm afraid, but if we can have some fun times & good games together in our rooms, i'd really like that.

Tommy T wrote:Thanks Aids - and the same to you guys. It's far from a done deal yet - but you lads have fought to be in the box seat....
Tommy T wrote:'Not very good' is a very subjective thing Aids. There are folk around here who rate you jokingly or otherwise as 'not very good' - whereas i rate you as one of the best i've ever played with. Perhaps I joined AC to learn how to pass the ball - I hear there's a fellow over at DM who's somewhat allergic to that :)
