Round 1 review: Div 1 & 2

Round 1 review: Div 1 & 2

Postby Zola » January 14th, 2019, 9:20 pm

I'll try to post some reviews of the rounds.
I don't have time for all of them, so if any of you want to help make some as well please do so.

As you might notice, I haven't looked the entire recs of the different games. In future rounds, if anything you find mentionable happens in your game, feel free to message me on teamspeek and I make sure to find it in the rec and consider it for the review.

A big thanks to Soc for helping

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With 3 wildcards spent Sunday gave us 9 games in total. Amongst the most spectacular there was a winner in the last 15 seconds, 7 clean sheets and almost a 2-digit goalscorer.

Division 1
archNemeses vs Guns N’ Moses 0-0 (0-0)
Last season's no. 5 started this season against Guns N’ Moses who promoted after winning Division 2B. LaggerMet's team only conceded 18 goals back then and their strong defence also troubled archNemeses this Sunday.
Neither of the 2 teams managed to break the defence of the opponent so Guns N’ Moses started their Division 1-adventure with a goalless draw. Clean sheets to Per and LaggerMet.

Excellents vs Skins 1-2 (0-0)
After a goalless first half Vanessa opened his goal account for Skins in a battle between 2 former Division 2 teams. After a pass from the defensive midfielder, Gilbert, he found space in between the Excellents defence. Less than 1 minute later Skins got another goal after a well-played attack that involved the entire offence. A Vanessa-cross found Hulk who put it in behind lajz for a 2-0 lead for Skins.
The Excellents didn’t give up yet and after some discrepancies in the Skins defence polish La Sombra brought some excitement back into the game. It stayed with that as The Excellents didn’t manage to get the equalizer, so Skins got a great start for their Division 1 campaign with a 2-1-win.

Gladiators vs Slappers 2-0 (1-0)
The Gladiators proved themselves worthy of Division 1 after slapping the Slappers 2-0 in a nicely played Italian duel. William found the net in first half after a quick passing move from Kappa to gio to William. Williams precise shot towards the nearest post made goalkeeper Enzo unable to prevent the ball going into the net.
Styl replaced Kappa at halftime and the attacker played a part in the 2nd goal where he managed to keep the ball in attack after a duel with Enzo. After some passing around gio found William again who sent the ball into the far corner with yet another well-timed shot. A well combined goal showing what Gladiators are capable of. Slappers didn’t manage to hit back so clean sheet to goalkeeper Baffo and 3 points for the Gladiators.

INSANITY vs FEAR 0-0 (0-0)
In another duel of 2 former Division 2 teams we saw INSANITY playing against FEAR. INSANITY seemed to have ping problems in first half which led to a substitution as Mistyk replaced Rudyi in goal. FEAR stayed with same line up for the entire match.
After a goalless first half INSANITY took the control in second half. The polish team combined well in attack but couldn’t get the ball behind mads who played a great game in goal for FEAR. The goals failed to appear and we had the second 0-0 match this Sunday.

Trailer Park Penguins vs Blue Panthers 11-1 (7-0)
They say penguins cannot fly but they surely did this Sunday where Trailer Park Penguins scored 11 times against Blue Panthers. The one man army xSha massacred the opponents with 9 goals and 2 assists.
It took less than 30 seconds before last season’s top scorer xSha opened his goal account. With another 5 goals from him, and 1 from Necro, opponents Blue Panthers had a nightmare-start in Division 1 being down 0-7 at halftime. It didn’t get much better in second half where Jockos reducer to 1-9 must be the only bright spot for his team. With another 2 goals from Trailer Park Penguins, last season’s cup winners start this campaign with a stunning 11-1 win.

Division 2
H2K vs Bronze4Life 1-2 (0-0)
We start of the Division 2 overview with the streamed match between the 2 new teams H2K and Bronze4Life. In the last seconds of the first half Bronze4Life had a great chance to make their first ever goal in Feed Me. Team captain Muris 9 mistimed his pass to Vrank though so first half ended goalless.
That changed in the second half where both teams managed to get a goal. H2K got the lead after Vrank put it into his own net after a misunderstanding involving him and goalkeeper Hexucho. Bronze4Life responded quickly and 15 seconds later they got the equalizer. The ball deflected on Muris 9 and together with his teammates he could watch the ball pass Rizzoli in the goal. In the last minute Vrank managed to score in the right end after he, with a precise shot, got the ball in the net after hitting the post. No teams managed to score further so Bronze4Life could celebrate with a 2-1-win.

Pablo Haxobar vs Disneylanders 0-5 (0-2)
One of Feed Me’s oldest teams, Pablo Haxobar, met newly accepted Disneylanders where the latter could be the most satisfied with their performance.
Pablo Haxobar had a great chance after the 4 minute mark but moments later their goalkeeper Sero07 had to pick the ball out of his net after Masa gave Disneylanders the lead. Disneylanders used the goal to get momentum and got another goal with a well-combined attack finished by Taziek to give them a halftime lead of 2-0.
In second half Pablo Haxobar didn’t make it easier for themselves by scoring 2 owngoals. Duke finished the match with his goal securing Disneylanders a 5-0-victory in their first match of the season.

Storm Wolves vs Super Kickers 2018 1-0 (1-0)
The Portuguese team Storm Wolves is another new addition to this season and they started their campaign against Super Kickers 2018. It looked like a goalless first half but with 19 seconds left Mod changed that when he gave Storm Wolves the 1-0 lead.
Both team made changes for the second half, but it didn’t change the score line as Super Kickers 2018 never managed to get the equaliser even though they had a good chance right at the end. Storm Wolves wins 1-0 and get a great start with a win and a clean sheet.

The Chosen ONE vs Invincible 3-2 (2-0)
Last match of the round was a true thriller that had it all. Lots of goals, a nice comeback and a late-winner from one of haxball’s grand old men.
The Chosen ONE, led by captain Mish, started best and got the lead when A.Tuntija smashed in the rebound after a deflected shot by Mish. Selfsame Mish doubled the lead after a duel with Invincible goalkeeper Mantas where the Czech-player proved he was strongest.
Some believe 2-0 is the most dangerous lead and that might have shaken The Chosen ONE a bit because they got in trouble in last part of the match. In a well-executed counter attack SuarezN7 managed to get his team back in the game with his goal to 1-2. Both teams had chances after that, but it looked like we would only see 1 goal in second half. SuarezN7 changed that when he scored another goal after a good Invincible attack with only around 20 seconds left. The comeback didn’t stand for long as A.Tuntija, who has scored over 100 goals in Feed Me, yet again was on the right place and scored the final goal of the match securing The Chosen ONE a 3-2-victory in a very entertaining match.

Nice review

TCO vs Invincible was certainly an epic match with comeback then winner right at the end. Very tense.

H2K vs B4L also quite nice with a funny 1st goal and then nice comeback.
