Vicious circle, innit? UK players are shit because they don't play in FM, and they don't play in FM because they're shit.
It's up to us to give them a chance methinks, in other 4v4 leagues they may be afforded less patience, and they're definitely going to find it harder to start their own teams.
All I'm saying is we should be giving our captaincy spots to those who'd consider FM as their primary league, not just copy-pasted YeS teams who'll maybe turn up to games and not talk to the rest of the community.

I mean, we saw all the dolorem about UK team playing badly, and maybe if we at least try to expand the pool of players, and have them playing in some of the better, mostly pan-European teams, we'll do better next time.

Anyway, I don't mean to bitch and moan, I'm just offering my thoughts so no need to whap out the ad-hominems :| .

@Joehan - ??? The English language has lots of words, and being a posh twit I like to make use of them.

not really, i was a late comer at fm, i still managed to easily get a team, work my way up, now in div 1 fm, div 1 yes and played a part in UK national team

just dont suck...

The new Samuel HAS Sprouted!!, with a bit of opc in him.

Ren mate the Premier League that is regulated by FIFA and the FA has 75 out of 220 English players.
You're missing so many points out here, everywhere you go its multicultural.

Tbh I get so sick and tired of some fucking brits that always bring up the nationality/race card.
If you're so bothered by it do something and stfu and not be a bitch bout it

Still, I find it slightly depressing that out of sixteen players who played in our streamed games on Sunday, only one hailed from the British Isles

Why? Are you racist?

and with ten from Germany, it's at least understandable that Radu would reach the conclusion that FM is becoming YeS in terms of it's playerbase, even if it's not an entirely correct one

So what?

Since the original idea (correct me if I'm talking bollocks here, Mad) of FM I think was to give UK players a proper league and community, even if we don't want a foreign player limit, might it be germane to suggest that at least ONE player from Great Britain and Northern Ireland must be on the pitch at all times in the game for both teams?
It may seem tokenistic to force teams that are entirely non-UK based to take on a British players, but it would mean that they'd get experience playing with good quality teams and be better players for it, hopefully raising the standard of 'the British game'.

There was a time when there were no established 4v4 leagues. People played in pub rooms. That's where you gain skill and understanding of the game. I think you should play in pub rooms for a couple of months. Watch some haxball replays, read the rkd's manual. Look how the pros play, emulate their actions. You improve YOURSELF, that's how this works. Playing in an FM team by itself won't give you anything. So, essentially, the idea of introducing a foreigner limit doesn't make any sense.

We aren't bound by any borders or geographic limitations here. If an English noob wants to play in a team, he can play in any European league. English is the world's lingua franca, remember?

I originally had the same opinion as Ren, but then realised that, first and foremost, why does it matter if the average UK player isn't as good as the average German player? The national teams don't really matter, and I don't think many people take them too seriously.

But also, this is the internet. One of the greatest things about it is that you can communicate with people from all over the world, we're not separated by borders. That should be embraced.

Aye, I can't believe how seriously Haxball is taken at times. There's no denial that Haxball developers have created something special, and national teams are becoming increasingly common in many eSports, but sometimes it really is taken a bit far. Just play it, the primary objective of video games is to entertain, not to get you worried (or depressed as someone said) about your national team :)

reduce the teams, its not a shame.. i see couple of teams are disbanding... or get rid of wildcards, get another system, because there are too many teams with forfaited games.. or let players from disbanded teams play in a new team.. fm' is bleeding.. #all-to-beneliga

Thursday's games said it all rlly as Mad so eloquently said "fucking joke"

6 defwins i believe, something like that anyway and three teams disbanded although that cannot be exclusively blamed on foreigners (Wood Berry)

Perhaps a rule like the one in HBC could be applied except a little more leniently.
Instead of having to speak english as a first language mebbe foreigners could be allowed in if they have been fairly loyal to FM cos otherwise we'd just be getting rid of some good players who don't deserve to be pulled out of FM by the people who don't give two craps about FM as a league or community.

something like that anyway
