Overwatch 2 Unveils New Comic "Tear It Down" to Explore Haza

Overwatch 2 has released a new comic titled “Tear It Down,” which delves into the backstory of Hazard, the latest tank hero introduced in Season 14. Narrated by Hazard’s voice actor, Conor McLeod, the comic provides an in-depth look at how the hero became involved with the Phreaks, a rebellious anti-establishment group, and sheds light on the struggles of life in the downtrodden world of Overwatch 2.

Hazard, the imposing leader of the Phreaks, was recently revealed through a cinematic showcasing the group's attack on the Oasis research facility. In the cinematic, the Phreaks steal a Vanadium isotope cache and wreak havoc on the area, offering a glimpse into Hazard’s abilities. Now, with the release of “Tear It Down,” players get a deeper understanding of his origins.

The comic tells the story of Hazard’s difficult childhood, set against the backdrop of the post-Omnic Crisis world. Growing up in a small home struggling to recover, Hazard enlisted in the military, only to be severely injured when an Overwatch plane crashed on him. His experience led him to the Phreaks, where he found solidarity with the rebels. Together, they plan to take on the oppressive establishment that abandoned them, culminating in their heist of the Vanadium isotope, as teased in the cinematic.

In addition to Hazard's story, the comic also introduces members of the Phreaks, each with their own unique personalities and roles. Alongside Hazard, players meet Suzannah and Boomslang from the "Hazardous Tactics" cinematic, as well as new characters like Revel, an omnic Ravager, Jackdaw, the team's getaway driver, and Touch-Up, the cyberneticist responsible for Hazard’s implants.
