Round 5 review: Div 1 & 2

Round 5 review: Div 1 & 2

Postby Zola » January 28th, 2019, 12:42 pm

Review for round 5. I was too lazy writing about matches from earlier rounds. Sorry!
Thanks soc

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A demonstration of power from one of the strong Division 2 teams, a team exceeding 20 goals conceded after 4 matches and a couple of hattricks happened in the fourth matchday of the 2 divisions.

Division 1
Gladiators vs Trailer Park Penguins 0-0 (0-0)
It was an important match for both teams being ranked in the middle of the table. They were aware of the importance of a win, that could keep you on track with the leading teams, but also aware of the danger of a loss leaving you closer to the relegation spots. It was a nervous first half where both teams were good at keeping the ball in attack. Neither of the teams managed to break up the defence and create big chances though so it was a goalless first half.
Same line ups for second half where the game picture looked like what we saw in first half. Gladiators were a bit more in attack and had a few decent chances but lacked the final accuracy. Trailer Park Penguins didn’t have the creativity we saw against Blue Panthers and tried to get the goal through spamming. They almost succeeded in that at the very end, but Gladiators kept the ball out of goal. 0-0 with clean sheets to Baffo and Nocke.

Seeders vs Blue Panthers 7-1 (4-1)
Blue Panthers have had a nightmare start of the season, so another massacre was possible when facing one of the league favourites Seeders. Surprisingly Blue Panthers got the lead after only 10 seconds. After a clearance, Pero que, caught Pringles off guard and he could shoot the ball into an empty goal. Seeders took control of the game and aguero10 equalized with a well combined goal midway through the half. With 2 minutes left Isco gave Seeders the lead with a great shot from distance that KaLaJaN1 in goal couldn’t catch. Seeders continued to pressure and got another 2 goals before halftime. This time by 2 own goals from Blue Panthers who had to change focus in halftime to avoid another melt down and a big loss.
In second half it was Seeders who took control again and they also got their fifth goal. Raul7 was out of his goal and left KaLaJaN1 without any chances as aguero10 tapped the ball in from close range to a 5-1 lead. Some minutes later aguero10 got his hattrick after a shot/pass from Yannex hit the post. An easy follow up from aguero10 who later returned the favour and made an assist for Yannex who scored for 7-1. No further goals and another big loss for Blue Panthers who still haven’t any points. Seeders are in pole position with 12 points after 4 matches.

Slappers vs Excellents 3-2 (2-1)
None of the teams had won in the past rounds so they were in desperate need of 3 points. Slappers got the lead after 4 minutes where Ferg found Browning who got the ball behind lajz with a very accurate shot at the far post. Nice finishing from Browning. The pleasure was short for Slappers as we saw another great goal this time from La Sombra shooting the equalizer in behind Entony88. Excellents tried to get momentum with their equalizer but it was Slappers who got the halftime lead. After an attack with very nice passing the ball ended at Browning who once again showed he is a great finisher. A very similar goal to his first securing a 2-1 lead at halftime for Slappers.
B4D4SS and Canìca replaced Browning and Ferg at halftime. Canìca only needed 7 seconds to prove it was a good idea as he snapped up a pass from lajz to Azure. A nightmare start of second half for Excellents now being down 1-3. They had a very hard time trying to come back and it seemed impossible until La Sombra scored his second goal with 20 seconds left. A bit of a random goal where Entony88 didn’t look too good on the goal line. Slappers kept the ball away from their defence in the last 20 seconds, so they ended with a 3-2 victory and the first win of the season.

Division 2
Balls Be Flyin' vs Elite69 3-3 (3-1)
With only 1 win in the first 3 rounds Elite69 was at the bottom of the table and in need of a victory to get their confidence back. Their opponents have had a good start of the season with 2 wins and a loss. Balls Be Flyin' got the lead as Eren got the ball in to the goal. An attempt to clear from aeRo was blocked by nightmare and goalkeeper Popi was at an awkward position a bit too far away from goal. Elite69 got back in the game when aeRo with a nice pass found Bonaparte who cleverly scored and gave his team some hope back. That only lasted for 10 seconds as Balls Be Flyin' got the lead again. First by nightmare and then by Striker Eureka securing a 3-1 lead to Balls Be Flyin' at halftime.
In the last round of the league we saw 2 great substitutions from Elite69 securing a nice comeback and that seems to be a bit of a speciality for the team. This time forsbi replaced Popi in goal and Ferry came on instead of Bonaparte. Around 4 minutes in Ferry said thanks for the substitution by bringing some excitement back into the match. A risky move from goalkeeper TotalPlayer inviting Ferry to a duel in front of goal showed that the Czech player was strongest. At the 5-minute mark the 2 players had another duel this time away from goal in the left side of the field. Ferry won again, and he didn’t hesitate for a second before shooting. He found a tiny spot between TotalPlayer and Eren, so the ball went in for the equalizer. No more goals and a 3-3 draw between the 2 teams. Another great comeback from Elite69, but the team still need to concede less and start winning matches if they want to get away from the bottom of the Division 2 table.

Bronze4Life vs The Chosen ONE 4-0 (3-0)
With 7 points each after 3 matchdays it was 2 of the top teams of Division 2 who faced each other Sunday. Bronze4Life had the best start and got the lead after 2 minutes. Rosemaryy had a shot blocked by MartYK but got it back and shot again. This time no one blocked it and it surprised Vidalo in goal who went in the wrong direction. A couple of minutes later Bronze4Life doubled their lead. Muris 9 got the ball from Rosemaryy and waited for the right moment to shoot the ball in between Vidalo and aprendiz who blocked goal. A clever goal from Muris 9. Bronze4Life continued to pressure and that paid off in the last seconds of the half. It looked like the defence of The Chosen ONE was already leaving for the break as they left Vidalo alone against 3 attacking players. Vidalo blocked the first shots but finally Muris 9 got the ball in for a halftime lead of 3-0.
3 changes for The Chosen ONE in halftime as Mish, CHE and Hawk entered the field. They tried to change the outcome but Bronze4Life played well in defence and avoided any sloppy mistakes even though they had a comfortable lead. They expanded that with 2 minutes left as Vrank tapped the ball in. Clean Sheet for Hexúcho and an impressive 4-0 victory for Bronze4Life who must be considered favourites taking one of the spots giving access to Division 1 in next season.

H2K vs Pablo Haxobar 3-1 (1-0)
After losing their cup match Pablo Haxobar could focus only on the league where they won 2 out of the first 3 matches. Sunday’s opponent H2K won their cup match and came into this match with lots of confidence. They also got the best start as FearMe gave H2K the lead. His first shot was blocked by Herna but the second got passed him and Sero07 in goal. No further goals in first half.
H2K also started best in second half where FearMe scored again. Where the first goal was a bit random the second was a great team goal smashed in at the nearest post. With 2 minutes left Pablo Haxobar got back in the game. socrates shot the ball at Rizzoli and with the deflection the ball ended in the net. Pablo Haxobar didn’t get any closer and instead FearMe secured his hattrick and a 3-1 win for his team with 15 seconds left. He snapped up the ball after a misunderstanding in the Pablo defence and shot the ball passed Sero07. A nice win for H2K who is now on 7 points.

Storm Wolves vs White Walkers 1-3 (0-1)
The streamed match of this Sunday gave us 2 teams who won their first match but haven’t won since in the league. White Walkers got the lead after 5 minutes as Wenell scored behind irvi in goal. He reacted quickly after a misunderstanding between irvi and Bot88 and gave his team the halftime lead.
The second half was not a minute old before Cede doubled the lead. Some nice passing’s gave him the opportunity from close range and he won the duel against irvi who couldn’t keep the ball out of goal. A minute later it got worse for Storm Wolves. Irvi didn’t manage to clear the ball and after a spamduel Cede again got the ball in the net for a 3-0 lead. With a minute left Mod scored for Storm Wolves but the 1-3 goal wasn’t enough for his team who didn’t manage to score any further. 3-1 win for White Walkers.

Super Kickers 2018 vs Disneylanders 2-1 (0-0)
3 games. 3 losses. 0 points was what the table was showing for Super Kickers 2018. A win was much needed in the game Sunday against Disneylanders. First half ended without goals which Super Kickers 2018 could be most satisfied with. Disneylanders had some nice attacking and combined well but couldn’t get it passed TemplleGoku who had a nice day in goal.
Disneylanders also started best in second half but it was the opponents who got the first goal. A misunderstanding and bad positioning from Disneylanders let Progamer score on an empty goal after CR70 won the duel against Duke. A surprising lead giving hope of 3 points to Super Kickers 2018. With the same recipe they doubled the lead with 2 minutes left. Programer positioned himself behind the Disneylanders goalkeeper and he could yet again score in an empty goal after a counterattack. Disneylanders got back in the game after a spam goal which eventually led to an own goal from CR70. That gave Disneylanders just a bit more than 1 minute to score the equalizer. They tried too but without luck so Super Kickers 2018 got their first victory of the season.
