What are you currently reading?

I'm reading Emperor: Gods of War which is the 4th book in a series by Conn Iggulden.

I'd highly recommend it if you're interested in reading about Caesar, great series.

A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking

Really cool stuff if you're interested in physics at all. The stuff on time is really difficult to grasp though.

A modern translation of The Iliad (stephen mitchells). The classic greek story of the siege of troy. Why should you read it? Heres an exerpt.

""Meriones ran him down, and as he drew close
he hit him in the right buttock, and the bronze spear point
pushed up under the pubic bone into his bladder,
and he fell to his knees, screaming, and death embraced him."

What the actual fuck? If that's supposed to make me want to read it, it failed. However if it was intended to make me gip and go light-headed, success! ....

You just dont understand classic greek literature girlbro

"Meges' spear hit the back of his neck, then cut
right through his jaw, and sliced off his tongue at the root.
He fell in the dirt, and his teeth closed around the cold bronze"

Maybe you'd prefer

"And as soon as the flush of dawn appeared in the heavens
they boarded the ship an launched her. Apollo sent them
a favouring breeze, and they raised the mast, and they hoisted
the white sail aloft, and it bellied out with the wind,
and on either side of the ships prow, the deep blue water
sang out as the ship flew over the waves to her goal"

Had it bought for xmas but not got around to it yet. Just finishing his series on the Mongol Empire which i've found a great read. Before that I enjoyed the 'Brethren Trilogy' by Robyn Young - great if you're interested in reading about the crusades...

Currently reading: Currently Reading Thread by the FM Forum. It's a great inspirational read, I'm only half way through but I know this is one of the greatest reads I've ever had. There's lots of solid, factual information along with some genuinely funny moments. There's a character in it called CircleBoy who keeps quoting Greek literature that another character Rachel doesn't seem to understand.

I'm just hoping that it's not one of those reads that gets you sucked in only you give you a disappointing ending. Will let you guys know how it goes and whether or not I'd recommend it once I'm finished with it.

I'm beginning to read "La fiesta del chivo" (The feast of the Goat).

I find Vargas Llose a very interesting writer.
