As you may be aware, I recently handed over the captaincy of Cathletico to my home dog Shockboy. As part of this, me and Cathalio decided that we didn't want Cathletico to exist without the two of us at the forefront. We therefore requested that the team be rebranded Shock Tactix. Shock agreed to this and everything was good.
I asked Jonny to change the logo and the name on the forum and was told that the admins were debating whether to let this rebranding go ahead as it removes history (all 9 months of it...) from the league.
This strikes me as terrible. The admins should not be allowed to make decisions that has no bearing on the rest of the league. It is purely an internal matter.
I wanted to share my frustrations in the hope that my story of oppression is never repeated.

It's the same situation for you as it is for every team. There's a certain level of consistency we'd like to keep in regards to team names, especially the original teams.

Any team that wants to rebrand isn't going to be allowed to do so immediately without proper debate and discussion about it. There are things to consider ... like what happens when Shock decides he doesn't want to captain any more? Is the name changed back? Does it stay as Shock Tactix? There's also the so called "history" and nostalgia of it to consider. Of all the original 6 teams, only Circle's Boys(now Northern Lights) is no longer in existence, and I think we all regret allowing the rebrand of them, too. And this is despite there being numerous captain changes at some of those teams.


Instead of rebranding why don't you see the season out as it is, and then at the end dissolve the team completely and Shock(if he wants to) can re apply for captaincy then(as there will be a space available, there is no more expansion so teams will not be allowed to come and go as they please). This will allow Cath to apply too should he want to bring back Cathletico fully. I'd rather the team be retired to the history books than be rebranded and forgotten about. This being pretty much what happened with Soccerettes until Soc bought them back.

Of all the original 6 teams, only Circle's Boys(now Northern Lights) is no longer in existence, and I think we all regret allowing the rebrand of them, too.

Nothing personal against you, it's just that now with every other team that was involved in season 1 being active(aside from Cathletico now if the rebrand does happen) it would have been nice to keep the full set going, you know?

In that case, DEJA Entendudes were re-established too, now that they are called "DEJA Reloaded" and have a new logo. However, no one comments about them. And if that is also the case, the Leftovers should still be here, no? Oh wait, they aren't. I would've liked to see them stay in the league still as a leftover team.
