Match Rooms

Match Rooms

Postby socrates » March 23rd, 2012, 3:36 pm

It seems to me that this season there has been a lot more issues regarding lag in rooms - so I am wondering what people think about possibly switching to the CL style in the future. This would mean that only the people playing, host, streamer and commentators would be in the room at any time. This would mean that only 10 people would be needed for league matches and 12 for the cup.

Hopefully this would reduce lag in match rooms although then we have the issue of substitutions which can only happen at half time in the CL if I'm not mistaken.

What do you guys think?

No need at all. The only problem is that we have more bitches here to bitch about it these days, dudes need to chill out and realize that trying to play haxball while streaming itunes or whatever the latest music fad thing is over wireless on a shitty 4MB broadband connection that is being shared by 5 other people, while having 17 other processing using CPU power on a shitty 1.4GHz CPU is probably going to create lag.

Seriously kids ... how some of get upwards of 500/600 ping constantly is beyond me.

It probably wont make that big a difference - normally laggy around that time anyway.

Yeah I know that for a lot of people it's their own connections at fault, but even so in a normal room I always lag less than I do during matches. We might have to make this change in the future anyway if we go to 4v4 with bigger squads which would require 16 people in a room - where do we draw the line?

4 playing, 1 sub, other member on stream/ts to be called if needed, then hoster/streamer/commentators as needed.
Most then is 5+5+1+1/2/3=12/13/14

Idk I just feel there's a difference in ping from the 14 man rooms for matches compared to the 10 man rooms usually.

More different nationalities in this seasons league may cause the lag.
