This lunar phase coincidentally matched the day GTA 6’s first trailer was announced, December 1, 2023. Fans latched onto this connection when, in November 2024, Rockstar released another GTA Online promotional image with the same moon phase, sparking hope for a trailer drop around November 22, 2024, the day the Waning Gibbous phase was set to end.

However, November 22 has passed without any word from Rockstar on the next GTA 6 trailer. Fans had hoped for an announcement by 9 AM ET, the usual time for Rockstar and Take-Two updates, but the silence has left many feeling let down. Despite the failed prediction, Rockstar and Take-Two have reiterated their confidence in a fall 2025 release for GTA 6, so it’s likely that other marketing plans are in the works.
