Tom HeatonSeems to have been around for ages milling about in a few lesser teams' reserves, though recently has undergone a bout of pleasant development. Now looks to almost be a servicable first team goalkeeper in the second tier after having been backup for so long, though one still wonders where a silly blunder may slip in.

Wilfried ZahaPositively burst onto the scene with some rapidity, and considered by a few to be one of the English game's most exciting young talents. Already looking promising in the creative and technical departments, one wonders if we are yet to see the best from this tricky forward.

Leon OsmanA player who's perhaps been guilty of fading into the background in his earlier days, has steadily built up a fair reputation as a consistent and dependable performer. Somewhat of a late bloomer, and with bags of experience, now is a refreshingly potent offencive force in midfield.

Adel TaarabtObviously shows raw ability, and can be as tricky with the ball as any when on song, although seems to be a bit of a shrinking violet when faced with the more sterner of oppositions. Seen as a bit of a 'playground bully' and perhaps needs to show a bit more humility and diligence if he is to truly step up.

Costel PantilimonA towering, yet somehow almost comical presence in goal has had a commendable early career, yet now while at one of the most prestigious teams in his division seems to have had his appearances almost totally dry up. Plas usually only against weaker opposition, and prone to maybe the odd mistake too. Has been called up as backup for his national team on occasion.

Aaron RamseySuch an obviously naturally gifted player; at one time predicted to become a world beater one day yet his time out from the game and sometimes sporadic first team appearances haven't seen this man realise his full potential. Great ball control and at at times near-metronomic passing ability, could do with a run of first team games again to display his true ability.

Kim KällströmIt seems not too long ago that this player was considered as not so far off the level of some of the very best, a great passer of the ball and excellent defensive positioning saw them become one of the best midfielders in their division, yet of late has somewhat slipped off the radar in terms of their playing career. May invoke ridicule nowadays if one was to consider them as great, but careful inspection should still reveal their ability not entirely eroded.

Mark SchwarzerA fantastic goalkeeper with a long and distinguished career across a handful of teams, always considered one of the top stoppers in his competition, if perhaps never the very best. A much loved player from any who's in touch with the game, and one of the most consistent performers over the seasons in the English game.

James MilnerMay not be one of the fanciest player in the top flight, but it's sometimes hard to ignore how effective his game can be. Shows good awareness and is often a cert to put a dangerous ball into the box, in addition to being able to play a number of roles across the midfield and even sometimes in defence.

David NavarroCombative and perhaps somewhat impulsive, one could definitely say 'the boy's a bit loco'. However he always seems to be putting his body on the line for his team when it matters; despite his explosive personality always gives his all on the pitch, and of course there's often a good weighted pass out of defence he can provide in addition to the madness
