I could help you to do a top 20 draft players without looking at what position they play. Only their skill and their reputation(coz without that we dunno their skill)

That's the thing - if there are rankings, people might draft players they've never played with or even seen, just because of a list. Not knowing their strengths/weaknesses, not knowing how they fit into the team. No captain will know of or see every player but it's an advantage to captains if they know a great player that's not well known.

Rankings would probably be arbitrary anyway :/

Don't do rankings, the whole point is for captains to scout players in the draft and list players who they would sign. I spent hours doing this last season, as im sure other captains did too, it's your fucking job as a captain

I think it's also an unfair advantage me signing pro spanish ppl for example... Coz u can't know them as captain as they're not even gonna try to join UK rooms.

Well, yes, that's my favorite part of the job - scouting for players and then convicing them to join the league. :)

But I'm afraid not everyone has so much time on their hands. It's better to publish a list (irrespective of how arbitrary it might be) than to have a couple of captains who pick naabs and fail miserably in the league.

It's not an unfair advantage, it's because you play in the Spanish league and on ESL so you know good players outside of FM. Other players here play in other leagues (including English players) and have an advantage over the ones that don't. To be honest, all captains will know who's good/bad/great on that list and if they don't they have players in their team that know. You don't need to know the whole list, just enough to build a strong team :)

All or most captains will have heard of the top players anyway. It's the later draft picks that you need to sort out.

Then let us make that ranking only for fun and for those attention whores who wanna see themselves in top 20 :x

We didnt say anything but making that ranking is a power position... There u can get money from ppl to get in the list and all that stuff u know ?

If a captain makes the wrong picks and fail in the league, it's their own fault. That's part of the fun of the draft - a captain making great draft picks to get a strong team together. The opposite end of the spectrum is every captain knowing in order the best to worst players in the draft (this can't really be done but it's just a point). Then it's a case of teams taking turns in the draft to pick in order of rank, which makes a draft boring.
