Nocerino's campaign involving the chat-box.

Postby Guest » June 29th, 2012, 11:52 pm

As some of you might have discovered into the early hours of Saturday morning, I have decided to create a campaign to (as the title of the thread suggests) remove the right of members posting gifs into the chat-box. The aim of this campaign is to help increase maturity levels, which not only will make the forum look (more) professional for ourselves but also having an impact on new members who have just registered and have decided to talk to a few members of a community on the chat-box - some may dislike the idea of such members posting images which mainly can be considered rude & vulgar which'll ultimately drive them away from the forum reducing the amount of players we have to compete in leagues & represent us on an international stage. As well as this, the likelihood of extra latency being created from image links being posted will be decreased alongside refraining the chat-box from randomly 'glitching'. If you are by chance in favour of the idea, then please comment below in a way understandable to help the campaign succeed.

This is a COMMUNITY, not an agency. The whole point of this site is to get to know each other and have banter, if people don't like the sorts of things we do, then they're probably not the type of people we want in this community, even though we try to accept everyone (even ovoxo :p). If the community is oppressed by harsh rules stopping us from communicating with each other in a joking fashion and stopping us from having banter, then we is gonna get hectic up in here and you won't like us when we get hectic up in here.

Right.

I heard the whole Polish national team checked out FM once, logged into the chat-box and saw one of those blasphemous gifs. One of them even said to me "the maturity level in this community is very low and the rude images I saw in the chat-box are an absolute disgrace, I won't be playing with such unprofessional people".

There's 10 year olds use the chatbox, do you think it's ok for them to see a guy fucking an orange? You might be 14 and cool with seeing mutilated faces and stuff like that but not everyone else is.

Just get some rules for the site otherwise no ones doing anything wrong.

I think we should keep the chat clean, which we do most of the time. Gifs with pornography or w/e (or ppl making mistakes on haxball) are unnacceptable but other types of gifs like that david tennants gif by camsamcamsam (omg <3) are harmless rly..

Just use common sense and dont post a guy fucking an orrange :-D Also you can use ts pming for w/e u wanna share wiv ur gay fwendz.

Seems we rly rly need shannade back.

Exactly. Why not just use your gifs in the ts chat box?

Dont think gifs should be used at all in the fm chat box as anyone on the site has acess to it. Breaks the chat box and what if you were browsing fm chat box at lunchtime and someone posted that gif of the guy fucking an orange as your boss walks past?

I think gifs are fine in posts, but I think there should be a limit. The most heinous gifs, such as the man pounding the orange, shouldn't be allowed on this forum tho.

Sukh, but he got banned immediately by chat mods. Only one person did that, and the chat log was cleared instantly.

Ahh, no bother then as long as it was dealt with.

Due to how the forum works I don't think we can block people from using img tags in the chatbox, just ban those who abuse it.
