Hi. Quickswans did 4def a lot of times on sunday. It was brought to their attention early in the game, but they kept doing it regardless.

Here's time of situations:

-0.30
-1.26
-around 3.35 (4 defenders)
-4.22 (blocking cavani, hence helping the defending, inside red line, this also created a big chance)
-5.22, 5.24
-7.17 (same as 4.22 - blocking nestro, hence helping them defend, in what appears to be inside the red line)
-10.05/10.06
-10.17 (again blocking dm in defense, hence helping to defend)
-11.21
-14.50
-15.19
-15.29
-15.31
-15.35
-16.17 (very big one)
I understand that some of these situations will appear from time to time, its different when its 15(!!) times
Im sure some will regard some of this as "midfield battle", and honestly its a tad unclear, but based on my interpretation they're all violations. For clarification: "2.5 The ST cannot intervene (attack, block, touch, be in front of) the DM at the left side of the RED AREA"

I really recommend watching the game to get a better interpretation of the game.

If these were isolated situations, and genuine accidents I wouldn't complain, but it happened early, we mentioned it but they kept on doing it.

Also pretty annoying how Kivi complains about a pause right after violating 3def rules

And last, no matter what the admins decision is, ill respect it, and i really appreciate the admin help I've gotten on teamspeak as well.

Since @StringerBell made an actual report, I've asked MrP to take position to this claims and I'd like to defend myself and every striker here playing this game in this league and internationally. Personally, I think this decision might decide how 3def is gonna be handled and what the limits of the striker really are.

I'm gonna start with my defense now.

First of all, take a look at the actual red line Stringer is talking about and the rule for it.

The ST cannot intervene (attack, block, touch, be in front of) the DM at the left side of the RED AREA. You can intervene when the DM loses the ball or cannot keep control of the ball in the RED AREA. Also you are allowed to intervene when Team BLUE cannot keep ball under possession. If the ball gets to the right side of the RED AREA the ST is allowed to intervene and 3-def-rule won't be applied anymore. In this case it won't matter if team BLUE has possession.

0:30: Show

This is the exact picture where the touch happened. For me personally, this isn't 4def and I should be allowed to intercept / touch due to the rulebook's picture which you can see above

1:26: Show

This has to be made correctly, because the 100% possession starts with 1:27. Now, take a look at the picture from the rulebook. The ball is not the parameter, it's the model. And from my personal opinion, this is borderline to the red line. That's why I decided to intercept and that was on my mind at this exact moment. If you want to talk about a few millimeters, then do so. I had less than a second to decide and my decision at this moment was that this is not inside.

3:35: Show

They had no ball possession, we had it and we were about to clear it. I don't see why this is a claim of 4def.

4:22: Show

That's what you call a body block in "modern haxball". This is and never will be 4def. I'm blocking him till he enters the ATTACKING ZONE.

Not even a touch, not worth to mention

I was outside of the "red box". He walked into me at this point which is not my fault for having correct positioning.

Start of second half, no clear ball possession, I try to challenge. No reason to back off to give them free shot on goal. You could also say this isn't inside of the red box. You might think Lee has the ball but he hasn't. We both walk up to the ball and reach it at the same time. We kinda have a draw there.

KEANU has obvious ball possession, red box doesn't apply anymore.

11:21: Show

It is actually 11:22 and thats a body block again

14:50: Show

no clear ball possession + body block on nestro + Lee lost the battle against MartYK. I'd also say this isn't in the red box.

15:19: Show

I body blocked him till the attacking zone, then after he entered it I backed off but couldn't for a half second because we were moving at the same direction. Being honest, I'm not 100% sure of what I should think about this by myself. I've got body blocked like this before and saw other people body blocking like this (turkish scene). I should mention that i body blocked him from outside the box till the attacking zone, I did not body blocked him inside the box. I'd say his model is not in the attacking zone and after I reached this point I legitimately backed off.

15:29: Show

This is actually 15:28, because this is a body block. Start + End of body block.

15:31: Show

touch never happened (0,1x speed)

15:35: Show

Recommend watching at 0,1x speed, because the touch didn't happen as well. He walked downwards my model.

16:17: Show

That's what you call a "rotation in need". At this point, I wasn't the striker. I was the AM and after KEANU entered the zone I backed off through my teammates. At this point, it was unfortunate that KEANU went to def but it's obvious that I take the role of the AM at this point. After I realized that KEANU still wants to go back, I immediately backed off.

If you do not agree, feel free to punish me.


After this, I'd also counter-claim macro usage of meisterpenguin in this match.

Times for this are: 15:19, 15:34, 15:40, 15:54, 16:27 (at least he tried), 16:33.

I don't think you really understand the rules.

As long as a touch happens it doesn't matter if he backs into you or not, he should have free space to roam. And you can't block anyone within the red zone. Thats not a matter of opinion, thats the rules.

Its explicitly stated in the rulebook: "2.5 The ST cannot intervene (attack, block, touch, be in front of) the DM at the left side of the RED AREA.", doesn't matter if we're attacking or not.

- QuickSwans broke rule 2.5 (3def) several times.
- They continued also after ingame protest of opponent team.
- Official warning for QuickSwans to take care about 3def better in future matches.
