Matchday 1 Preview- Division 1

Matchday 1 Preview- Division 1

Postby Swift » April 2nd, 2015, 6:17 pm

So the season starts for Division 1 after much anticipation! :) With the title race looking closer than ever this season, and lots of good players involved, it looks set up to be a cracking season!

Lets get started with the streamed match for today!

IKEA Deutschland vs Elite 69[
Image Image
IKEA, one of the long standing members of FM at the moment come up against the recently promoted Elite69 after their magnificent season where they won all their games and won the FM Cup too.

IKEA boast an array of talent across all departments and have made some new acquisitions in cifteli and Rami, both coming from Ajhax. Barca is a very experienced DM and will hope to lead IKEA to a successful season. After all this team is known to be one of the most consistent teams in FM, but haven't stepped it up to the next level in terms of trying to win the division. Hopefully this will be their season! Schnuppel will most likely lead the attack for them today vs E69 and will hope to bring their defence a lot of problems as he has the capabilities to do this. Craig was signed from Mighty Ducks, which is arguably their most prominent signing and he will provide a bit of flair that IKEA have lacked in recent seasons. With Tsubasa leaving, is it a better IKEA or a worse IKEA? We'll see against the strong opponents today!

E69, arguably the best team of both divisions last season and are the dark horses of Division 1. They boast a strong lineup which is comparable to the Czech Republic national team , boasting experienced talents like doupi, Zembou and poraon96. Having played with Zembou myself, I have to say he's a great striker and I feel if he's active, he will score quite a few important goals this season. However, despite their magnificent feat last season, they face very strong opposition in IKEA. They will come up against a rugged defence, who only conceded 15 goals in 14 matches last season. E69 also have a strong DM in Strider, who was nominated for DM of the season in Season 11 and he will hope he can bring his form into this season. xPajas was prolific last season, scoring 14 goals last season, but he'll find it more difficult in Division 1. Hopefully he can replicate the form he showed in Division 2!

A lot is at stake in this streamed game, and both captains will want a result in their first game of the season! GL to both teams!

Probable lineups
IKEA:
cifteli-Barca-FrA-Schnuppel
cifteli-Craig-FrA-Schnuppel
E69:
Popi-Strider-doupi-xPajas
Popi-Strider-doupi-xPajas

My prediction
IKEA 1-1 E69

Mighty Ducks vs Vatreni[
Image Image

Mighty Ducks, hampered by inactivity, vs Vatreni who have finally got together a squad that Ron can work with. After their lucky promotion from Division 2 due to ACDP and RnR disbanding in Division 1, Ron has signed a brand new team to compete this season.

Mighty Ducks boast a lot of experience and talent in their team, but also a lot of inactivity! Pretty much their whole team is inactive bar Jenzo (the captain) and TIAGO who was recently signed by Jenzo, in an attempt to revitalise his team. Reportedly Jenzo is signing some more players and might wildcard this game, much to Ron's disappointment. There's nothing much to say about MD due to their inactivity but what I can say is that Jenzo needs to sign active, good players that will serve him throughout the season. TIAGO is a good start, an experienced player who can bring a different dimension to the team. Hopefully the team gets itself together and has a good season.

Vatreni, lead by Ron, have an experienced set of players from a wide range of countries. There has been a reported bust-up between BlueLion and Ron recently and Blue has been linked with other teams after he apparently wants to leave! Ron interestingly signed veteran SixtyOne who has come back to haxball and will try to score a few goals this season. Ron will have to keep his patience with his players this season, which was not so evident last season where he cut players too quickly, which is in my opinion the wrong thing to do. Stefan was recently signed to Vatreni, and he's in good form at the moment, so it will be a good test for him in Division 1. An interesting signing by Ron was Alexis, who was thought to have left haxball, but has come back and is a very good player. Some say he is the best in Romania and Ron should be delighted that he has this talented player! The squad looks strong and hopefully will provide an interesting match vs MD.

GL to both teams!

Probable lineups
MD:
Can't really say since their team is inactive and Jenzo is signing new players.
Vat:
Corn-Rosemary-Alexis-Stefan
Pirlo-wrozbita-Storm-Stefan

My prediction
MD 1-3 Vatreni

Pablo Haxobar vs QuickSwans[
Image Image

These two can never stop playing eachother can they? After the recent dilemma where they were paired up in the qualification stage of the HCL, leading MrP to give QuickSwans a defwin in protest to the decision, they meet again where hopefully they actually play the match :D Both sides boast extremely strong sides, and they will both be contending for the title!

Pablo Haxobar have shaked up their team a bit with Eddie and Zerothree both coming in to fill the slots of Rooney1878 and Formiga who left to join YeS AllStars. They endured a decent season 11 finishing 3rd and only conceding 17 goals, but it was clear that they lacked creativity upfront with only 25 goals scored, the lowest out of the top 5 last season. Perhaps this is the reason why MrP allowed Rooney1878 to leave since he felt that he needed some fresh ideas upfront. Eddie provides a big threat in an attacking sense while also good in defence, but can sometimes lose the ball in critical situations. He is a solid DM though. Another signing MrP made was Zerothree who has been the best player in Netherlands for some time now and will provide a lot of experience in defence. Hawk and Tuntija lead the attack, but both are not in the best of form and need to pick it up today. They both possess experience and quality, so there should be no problem in scoring goals. The whole team looks solid in both defence and attack and should cause problems for QuickSwans.

QuickSwans, finished midtable last season, and have virtually the same squad apart from the signing of Insane. Apparently Insane is on his way out however after he has grown fedup with Rautovic! Rautovic was one of the players of the season last season and will want to replicate his form this season and maybe compete for top scorer! He will most likely partner naho upfront, who is an excellent experienced player with a lot of technical ability. Ferry will need to come to most games as he is their best DM and is unstoppable when on his game. Mish could be seen as the weakpoint in GK and will need to step up his level if he wants QuickSwans to achieve this season. Against PH, it will be a tight affair with both teams throwing caution to the wind having faced eachother many times and will know eachothers play styles well.

GL to both teams!

Probable lineups
PH:
Hannes-Eddie-Coon-Hawk
Hannes-Eddie-Tuntija-Hawk
QS:
Mish-Ferry-Rautovic-naho
Mish-Ferry-Rautovic-naho

My prediction
PH 1-2 QS

TurnUp Turnips vs Aston Birra[
Image Image

The two teams that have been promoted from Division 2 face eachother again. They both have similar lineups from last season, with TuT signed aeRo after ACDP disbanded and Aston Birra have signed two of the best italian players Reus and Derrick Rose.! This match will surely be hard for TuT if AB have their best players online but TuT can pull off a result if they play to their best.

TuT, captained by Hernandez, were luckily moved up to Division 2, as with the same case as Vatreni and will want to prove their worth as the underdogs of the Division. Herna had a great season in Season 11, claiming a nomination for DM of the season, and leading his side to a 4th place finish. Sero07 had a magnificent season, claiming top GK of Division 2 and claiming the award for GK of the season and keeping the defence solid as a wall! They should be aiming for a midtable finish and need to defend well to stay in the division. They come up against strong opponents today!

Aston Birra, with their best players, can beat some of the best teams in this league. With Reus, who is arguably one of the best players in Haxball atm and Derrick Rose. who is in great form. Paulinho is a solid DM himself and managed to lead his side to 2nd place last season. However the team is a bit inactive and could face some problems in the future. They need to be on their best form to beat TuT, who themselves have a rugged defence and will take a lot to score past them!

GL to both teams!

Probable lineups
TuT:
Sero07-Hernandez-Ayla-aeRo
Sero07-Hernandez-Ayla-aeRo
AB:
Nexus-Paulinho-El Kabir-Derrick Rose.
Nexus-Paulinho-El Kabir-Derrick Rose.

My prediction
TuT 1-3 AB

GL to all teams, and hope it's a good matchday!!
