3def rule.

It is what it says on the tin.

3def rule.

Postby Nana8 » January 4th, 2018, 6:22 pm

2.6 In a special situation like a 4th player getting involved in the attack (mostly the GK) the 3-men-def-rule will be not applied, because it will turn into a 3vs4 situation. Once the gk is offering himself for a pass in the attacking zone, it turns into 3vs4. In this case the opponent's striker is allowed to help in defence to get an equal number for both sides.

Seems like no1 is aware of this rule and I got banned multiple times in fses who are played like the FM rules since we found our opponents on the FM Teamspeak. If this happens in fses then the same will happen in officals. I suggest to make people more aware of this rule wheter its stupid or not.

or just remove it :)

The 3def applications for one or 2 years is ridiculous, strikers don't get bothered anymore by blocking dm's while they're holding the ball

If you remove it there's going to be more gks that play box and it seems like a cheap way to attack, but i agree that alot of people ban it even though its allowed, in this league if not other leagues (?)

That's risky by itself, you fail one pass and opponent has an open goal to score.. It should be a viable option to attack like that without opponent's striker interference.

Just as a note, initially the 3def rule was invented to prevent four players from blocking the goal completely by putting players in a row, that's why big play 3def rule and big easy no. Even in the big current map where the goals are bigger than when the 3def rule was created, it's still possible to cover the goal with 4 players, therefore, this rule can't be dispensed with.

No one is suggesting we get rid of the 3def rule though. Read the post again

3def rules must be:
-when a player makes a backpass to his dm, the opposing st can't block the dm
-when the ball is cleared by the defensive team, the opposing st can block the dm

-when the dm is tricking, the opposing st is not allowed to bother dm's intentions
-when the dm is going to make a pass to his gk, the opposing st is allowed to bother dm's intentions

-when the dm and the gk are on the same line, the st is able to block the ball owner

it's as delicate as the off-side rule in football

Just to come back to the post, same happens with the new rule.
i'm not saying out names but even captains of div1 teams here have no idea about the new 3def rule with the 3def zone. Make people please more aware of this.

People are going off in the chat with "4" and other stuff, if the striker touches the dm over the half line. this happend also in our league matches. Also because of this, I think strikers are now afraid to defend vs the dm.
